    Russia lies in Eastern Europe. Its geographic centre is at about 61.52° N, 105.32° E, and the capital, Moscow, is at 55.75° N, 37.62° E.

    With 17,098,250 km², it is the largest of the 47 countries in Europe — about 70 times the size of the United Kingdom.

    Russia lies entirely in the Northern Hemisphere.
